Beyoncé unveils new music video

Best Thing I Never Had is now streaming online.

Pop star Beyoncé has unveiled her newest music video for Best Thing I Never Had, the second single off her new album 4, reports MTV.

With a slower, more sultry track than her first single, Rule The World (Girls), the video also moves at a more melancholy pace than the frenetic dance number that accompanied Girls.

The song is an angry ode to karma, with the refrain “what goes around comes around” echoing Beyoncé’s sentiments about a former boyfriend who mistreated her. In the video, she gets the last laugh, having moved on, preparing to marry the man of her dreams.

The clip opens on the singer, channeling a wedding day Victoria’s Secrets model, clad only in white lace lingerie and matching garter. Her hair worn up, she strolls seductively around her bedroom showing off her killer curves.

The action then moves outdoors, with Beyoncé now in full wedding dress regalia. Shots of her running across a wide, green field are intercut with faux-home video footage dated 1998 that show a younger Beyoncé being poorly-treated by her teenage hounddog of a date at a school dance.

Then the singer heads down the aisle on her happy day and then it’s off to the reception, where happy families join in dancing to the song. The video closes on Beyoncé walking off into the sunset, finally free from the man who treated her so poorly.
