For the first time, all ‘Big Four’ heavy metal bands – Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica, and Slayer – will appear on the same bill in the United States, and it will be the first time they will have played together since a series of European dates last summer, reports Consequence of Sound.

Headbangers can rejoice with the announcement that this year the Big Four is planning to perform at a one-day concert in Southern California on April 23.

The concert will take place one week after the Coachella music festival and one week before the Stagecoach music festival on the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California.

In September 2009, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich assembled a tour with thrash metal’s ‘Big Four’ together on one bill, and they took the stage together for seven shows in Europe’s Sonisphere Festival concert series. Since then, metalheads have never looked back.

The ‘Big Four’ are planning to unleash their ear-splitting sounds from 4 to 11 pm on the day before Easter Sunday, April 23, so don’t forget your earplugs.  Tickets are $99 or $199 VIP and set to go on sale this Friday (January 28).
