Hugh Jackman, Alicia Silverstone and Olivia Wilde have signed on to appear in the comedy Butter alongside Jennifer Garner, Ashley Greene, Ty Burrell and Yara Shahidi.
Butter follows an orphaned teen adopted by a Midwest family who discovers a real talent for sculpting butter. She finds herself competing in the local butter carving competition against Jennifer Garner. She plays a woman whose husband is cheating on her; he is also a former carving champion.
Jennifer Garner will also be a producer on the film. Hugh Jackman plays the role of her former boyfriend. Alicia Silverstone is the girl’s adoptive mother. Olivia Wilde will play a tattooed stripper who is also the mistress of Garner’s husband. Twilight‘s Ashley Greene will be Garner’s stepdaughter.
Jim Field Smith (She’s Out Of My League) is directing the film written by Jason Micaleff.
Shooting begins in just a few days.
Hugh Jackman finished work on Snow Flower and the Secret Fan coming to theatres next year. He is currently working on an as-yet-unnamed comedy in New York City with Gerard Butler and Naomi Watts.
No date has been given for the release of Alicia Silverstone’s film Elektra Luxx.
Olivia Wilde can still be seen in the series House M.D. and she stars in Tron Legacy coming out on December 11.
