This year marks the 40th anniversary of the release of American singer-songwriter Billy Joel’s first album, Cold Spring Harbor.
According to the singer’s website, in commemoration of this anniversary, his record label “will celebrate the occasion with a definitive reissue project of newly restored and expanded Legacy editions of the complete Billy Joel catalog, newly curated collections of rarities from the vaults, previously unavailable studio tracks and live performances, home video releases and more.”
Billy Joel – The Complete Albums Collection will include a 15-CD box set including all his original recordings. Fans will also appreciate another special release, a two-disc ‘Legacy Edition’ of 1973’s Piano Man album, exclusively featuring a long-lost radio concert from 1972.
The 62-year-old artist rose to worldwide fame with hits like She’s Got a Way, Piano Man, Just the Way You Are, She’s Always a Woman, Only the Good Die Young, and Honesty.
Just yesterday, another singer-songwriter, Leonard Cohen, 77, also announced the launch his complete collection of recordings.
