Blind Melon Makes a Comeback

Blind Melon is making a comeback after 13 years out of the spotlight.

The rock band is collaborating with Adrenaline Records, to launch a new album, For My Friends, on April 22.  Singer Travis Warren will be replacing Shannon Hoon who died in 1995.

Warren will be teaming up with the original band members including guitarists Rogers Stevens and Christopher Thorn, bassist Brad Smith and drummer Glen Graham.

According to Billboard, "This record’s a great rock’n’roll record. It’s kind of like [1995’s] ‘Soup’ — the more you listen to it, the more it grows on you."

The singer explained that the band tried different sounds, like in the single Sometimes. He really likes the title track For My Friends, because it was the first song he recorded with Blind Melon.
