Seven years after the release of their last record, Blink 182 is finally back to work.

The punk-rock trip will spend much of August touring European rock festivals and plans to enter the studio after a  few more concerts.

Bassist Mark Hoppus has unveiled the band’s projects on his blog, himynameismark: "We do a European tour this summer and write new songs. After that, we enter the studio to record a new album by Blink 182. "

In an interview with MTV this week, the drummer, Travis Barker, revealed further details: "The new disc will be released next year. We’ll start recording when we return home. "

The trio will perform in the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy and Austria before returning to California scheduled for mid-September.

The last album by Blink 182, which was self-titled, was released in 2003. Since then, band members have been concentrating on solo projects.
