BLK DNM debuts unisex scent

New York-based denim brand unveils debut fragrance Perfume 11.

Swedish fashion designer and BLK DNM creative director Johan Lindeberg will launch his brand’s first fragrance, Perfume 11, at a contemporary art fair in Miami on December 1, reports Elle.

Of the name, Lindberg said, “2011 feels like the new 1968. Between this year’s nuclear, financial and political crises and rallies, I feel an energy right now that is not dissimilar to the political movement and idealism that I experienced when I was at University in Sweden in the late 60’s. The current climate is a strong inspiration for me and I am proud to be launching BLK DNM and this perfume this year.”

Perfume 11 is a unisex scent that provides a mix of sweet and spicy, with a blend of Parisian chic and urban New York, presented in a minimalist glass bottle.

The fragrance is composed of notes of black amber, birch tar, soft musk and cardamom – a blend of scents inspired by the most important women in the designer’s life.

Created by Robertet, the New York nose behind Bond No. 9 and Jacob perfumes, Perfume 11 will retail for $110 exclusively at The Webster and BLK DNM’s stores in New York and Stockholm, as well as blkdnm.com.

Previously, Lindeberg worked at Diesel, first as marketing director, then as U.S. CEO. He later went on to create his own line of golf wear, and for a time, was the creative director for Justin Timberlake’s fashion brand William Rast.
