Boeing Forecasts Long-Term Recovery

Boeing predicts the need for more plans in the next twenty years and a slow recovery from the recession.

According to Breaking Travel News, Boeing predicts that airlines will need 29 000 new plans by 2028, representing about 3.2 trillion U.S. dollars.

The company’s marketing vice-president, Randy Tinseth, made the announcement this week. According to him, only Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands need 670 plans which represent 90 billion U.S. dollars.

The airlines and the aviation industry have been severely affected by the recession. However, Mr. Tinseth said the data indicates that the downturn has reached its lowest level and recovery is gradually beginning.

Boeing currently has a backlog of 3 400 plans or 254 billion dollars, but they believe it will be balanced by the increased needs of the customers.
