Bond No. 9 creates tribute to Andy Warhol

Manhattan perfumer unveils new fragrance inspired by famous pop artist.

Manhattan-based perfumer Bond No. 9 has added the newest installment to their fragrances created in homage to Andy Warhol, this time with a fragrance created in the image of the artist himself, reports Basenotes.

The sixth in a series of perfumes inspired by one of the founders of the 1950s pop art movement, Andy Warhol is meant to represent the "boho-mod life and times of the iconic artist himself," according to a company statement.

Previous perfumes in the collection have been inspired by iconic New York City locales, such as Union Square and Montauk, which were significant in the life of Warhol, but the new fragrance is the first to take inspiration directly from the man.

Opening notes of Italian bergamot zest and peach juice "are quickly juxtaposed with red rose, peach juice, and spicy cumin…centifolia rose, white patchouli and cistus ambre," explains the perfumer. The fragrance also includes notes of frankincense, jasmine and oud, with closing notes of amber, sandalwood and musk.

The new Andy Warhol fragrance goes on sale December 1 and will be available through the Bond No. 9 website and Manhattan storefronts. The perfume will be available in a 50 mL bottle for $180 and a 100 mL bottle for $240.
