Bono Feels Privileged

Bono recently explained what motivates him to give so much of this time to his favourite charities.

The U2 frontman dedicates a large part of his life to various different charities because the work makes him feel more gratified.

The Irish rock star has amassed a personal fortune estimated at 650 million US dollars, thanks to the success of his rock band. While Bono and the rest of the group are iconic figures in the industry, the singer admits that he knows just how lucky he is to live such a privileged life.

That is why he feels it’s important to give back and to help out the less fortunate. The star stated, "I am very well paid, overpaid and even over-rewarded for what I do."

Bono helps out in numerous charities and causes, such as the fight against poverty and diseases in Africa. He has met with many world leaders in fundraising efforts to help the millions of AIDS victims around the world.

Recently, the singer and his brand, RED, teamed with Starbucks for the release of a 4-song mini CD. The profits will go towards the fight against AIDS. The CD features I Believe in Father Christmas, by Bono himself, You & Me by the Dave Matthews Band, Redemption Song by John Legend, as well as All You Need Is Love, by the Beatles, performed by the group Playing for Change.
