Bottega Veneta Gets Fragrant

Bottega Veneta will be introducing a new perfume.

The fashion house that specializes in leather handbags has signed an exclusive deal with Coty to create, develop and distribute its first line of perfumes, reports FashionMag.

Creative director for Bottega Veneta, Tomas Maier, revealed that creating the first perfume for the label, founded in 1966, was an exciting challenge for his team.

The company’s CEO and president, Marco Bizzarri, added that the partnership with Coty will offer them a chance to enter the perfume market with a bold step, thanks to the unique elements that both companies possess.

The perfume is still being developed, but should be ready for 2011.

Coty also owns the distributing licences for several brands, including Balenciaga, Calvin Klein and Chloé.
