Brad Pitt clarifies remarks about marriage to Jennifer Aniston

Actor says people are misinterpreting his words.

At the premiere of his new film, Moneyball, actor Brad Pitt found a moment to clarify comments he made last week regarding his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, reports People.

"That was never my intention for it to be spun that way,” Pitt addressed those who had misinterpreted his comments. “People read things into it that are just not there.”

Last week in an interview with Parade magazine, the actor said that his union with Jennifer Aniston was not fulfilling.

He told the interviewer: “I spent the ‘90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony. I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage [to actress Jennifer Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t."

Aniston and Pitt had met in 1998 and were married in 2000. Five years later they divorced. Previously, the actor dated Gwyneth Paltrow from 1994 to 1997.

Once the interview surfaced, Pitt issued a statement: "It grieves me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend. The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself — and that, I am responsible for," the 47-year-old actor said in a statement.

Today, the actor said he is happy with his family and describes Jolie as a wonderful mother to their six children.
