Actor reteams with Aussie director Andrew Dominick for adaptation of crime novel.

Three years after starring in Andrew Dominik’s The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Brad Pitt is getting ready to reteam with the director for Cogan’s Trade, a comedic thriller based on George V. Higgins’ crime novel, reports Hollywood Reporter.

Other potentials to join the ensemble include Casey Affleck, Sam Rockwell, Mark Ruffalo and Javier Bardem. Shooting is rumoured to begin in January 2011.

Pitt will produce the film with Dede Gardner through his company Plan B, along with Steve Schwartz and Paula Mae Schwartz at Chockstone Pictures.

This Friday, November 5, the animated film Megamind will be released, featuring Pitt’s voice work as Metro Man. The actor shares the screen with Sean Penn in The Tree of Life scheduled for release May 27, 2011. In September 2011, Moneyball is due in theatres.
