Bradley Cooper in talks for The Crow

The Hangover star negotiating starring role in remake.

The Hangover star Bradley Cooper is in early negotiations to star in a remake of The Crow, reports Deadline.

The Crow was originally a popular underground comic created by James O’Barr. In 1994, Alex Proyas directed Brandon Lee in the first film adaptation of the story of Eric Draven, a rock musician who returns from the dead to avenge his fiancée’s death.

The movie gained cult status after Lee, the son of martial arts film star Bruce Lee, was accidentally shot and killed at the age of 28 while filming The Crow in North Carolina.

The Crow had three sequels. The Crow: City of Angels in 1996. The second and third, The Crow: Salvation in 2000, and The Crow: Wicked Prayer in 2005, went directly to video. In 1998, there was also at Canadian television series The Crow: Stairway to Heaven.

The remake will be directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) and filming will begin this fall.

Having recently starred in Limitless, Bradley Cooper will be back in theaters in The Hangover: Part II on May 26.
