The celebrity couple, who frequently rents houses in various places where filming takes them, hopes to get their hands on a prestigious property in Manhattan.
Pitt and Jolie have chosen a particular apartment, because it has a back yard and several exits that would allow them to easily escape the wrath of the paparazzi.
Rumour has it that the actors are even ready to purchase two or three apartments that they would combine to expand living space for their six children.
"I heard they’re ready to spend as much as $25 million," a source told the New York Daily News.
