According to Variety, Fraser, 38, will play Rick O’Connell, an archeologist and adventurer in the film. Rachel Weisz will not be a part of the cast for the third installment of the film franchise.
The Mummy 3 is expected to be in theatres during the summer of 2008, and will be directed by Stephen Sommers. Filming is set to begin at the end of this summer in Montreal, Canada.
