Rocker Bret Michaels has denied rumours of an affair with Miley Cyrus’s mother, Tish, and says he is not responsible for her separation from Billy Ray Cyrus after 17 years of marriage, reports People.
“I’ve been friends with her family forever,” Michaels said. “It started out with me and Miley simply working on a song together. Her mom, Tish, likes Every Rose Has Its Thorn, the first concert Miley ever saw was Poison, and so they wanted to remake it for the new record.”
Michaels, 47, insists his involvement with the Cyrus family has been strictly professional. “When I was in the studio, Miley came in and sang on my song … and that was it,” he said.
Last week rumours began to circulate that the lead singer of Poison was the cause behind the divorce of Miley Cyrus’s parents.
Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce last month in Tennessee, citing irreconcilable differences.
How is Miley taking her parents’ divorce? “She’s trying to keep everything private while her family works through this," said a source close to the singer.
