Britney Spears is trying to come to a financial agreement with Kim Robard-Rifkin, the owner of the car that was damaged when Spears hit it and left the scene.
Lawyer J. Michael Flanagan stated "It’s approximately in the $1,000 range."
On August 6, 2007, the celebrity hit a 1999 Mercedes Benz in a parking lot in San Fernando Valley with her convertible, and left without leaving the owner a note.
If Robard-Rifkin accepts the financial compensation, the hit and run charges may be dropped.
The young singer would still have minor charges pending regarding driving without a valid driver’s license and hit and run causing damages.
On October 2, the California Department of Motorized Vehicles stated that the 25-year-old singer now has a valid license.
