The magazine published the pictures in its most recent edition (February 28). The photographs were from the resort staff where she and her husband, Kevin Federline, spent their Fiji island honeymoon.
"I am disturbed by the photos and article that appeared in this week’s issue of Us Weekly magazine, which they call my ‘private honeymoon album,’ " Spears said in a statement released Wednesday.
The couple traveled to the island of Nanuya Levu at a cost of $1,975 per night. The unique paradise is only accesible by boat or hydroplane. They chose this resort specifically for its privacy elements.
When hotel staff members asked to take photos of the couple for personal souvenirs, the two agreed and smiled for the cameras. However, they were not expecting to pictures to be offered to magazines.
"Kevin and I thank those other magazines for respecting our rights of privacy," she said.
