Britney Spears Gets a Restraining Order

Britney Spears got a restraining order put against her forcing her to stay at least 100 feet away from her children.

People reported that following the standoff with the police last Thursday, where Spears refused to hand the children to her ex-husband Kevin Federline, a Los Angeles police officer surprised the star with a temporary court order prohibiting her from coming close to her children. If Spears does not respect this order she will be arrested.

This order is called an "emergency protective order," and will be in effect for five days. Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, stated that the police had to implement a restraining order in order to stabilize the situation. Kaplan claims that this order was not requested by him.

Spears had already lost her visitation rights on January 4. The next hearing is scheduled for January 14.
