Britney Spears Needs to Appear in Court

There is an important hearing in court today and Britney Spears is required to attend.

Spears’ legal team formally advised her that she must be in court today, reported People.

A source revealed, "Absolutely she’s been advised to show. Her attendance is important."

This hearing is in regards to the incident that happened on January 3, when the police were called to Spears’ home and she was taken to the hospital by force.

Spears’ ex-husband, Kevin Federline, is not obligated to be in court. Lawyer Scott Weston, who does not represent any of the parties in this case, explained, "Britney needs to be there because it’s much easier to defend your client if he/she is present to refute what witnesses say."

At this time, Federline has full custody of their two sons. Spears has been stripped of her visitation rights.  At the hearing today, Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, will be requesting that they extend the suspension of Spears’ visitation, and that Spears has no contact with the children until the official hearing begins in April.
