Britney Spears new single inspires underground remixes

Remixes of Hold it Against Me start to appear on the underground dance club scene.

Pop singer Britney Spears newest hit single, Hold it Against Me, has inspired a number of dance club remixes, reports MTV, as DJs and producers pick up the mainstream dance hit and pull it deeper into the underground music scene.

"I’m in the studio working on Britney Spears remix its going well," wrote British trance DJ Paul Oakenfold on his Twitter account. The well-known Oakenfold has worked with several big names in showbusiness, such as joining Madonna on her 2006 Confessions Tour and collaborating with Brittany Murphy on the single Faster Kill Pussycat.

Meanwhile, electropop producer Robots with Rayguns has already released a sci-fi inspired remix of the dance hit, combining the song’s original vocals with robot noises and an ’80s-style synthesizer.

Where Robots with Rayguns goes light, DJ Mike Rizza takes the song on a darker turn with his Funk Generation Club Mix, lopping the singer’s vocals, and blaring sirens and a driving beat.

Hold it Against Me, the first official single from Spears’ upcoming seventh album, debuted January 11 at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100.
