The 24 year-old celebrity and native of Louisiana, will take part in the televised celebration on February 28. New Orleans was devastated last fall by Hurricane Katrina.
"I am honored to be a part of the Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans this year," the pop star, 24, said in a statement Monday. "It is so important for this amazing city to continue its annual traditions."
Good Morning America will also be collecting funds for the victims of the tragedy.
