Even though she has been nominated in the "Best Female Video" and "Best Pop Video" categories for her song Piece of Me, Britney Spears refuses to sing during the event, which will take place on September 7.
Her manager, Larry Rudolph, indicated that the singer has been trying to forget about her disastrous performance last year, which was supposed to mark her comeback to the music scene.
2007 was a year full of turmoil for Spears, who had to fight for custody of her children, which was not granted to her, in addition to going through a period of rehab.
MTV hopes that the star will take the stage, however she has clearly indicated that she’s not planning on it.
