Britney Spears is the latest celebrity to be affected by the slumping U.S. housing market. Starpulse reports the Circus singer will probably lose millions of dollars on the sale of her Beverly Hills, California mansion.
The singer put the house on the market in September 2008 for $7.9 million US. There have not been any takers so far.
Now Spears has been forced to reduce the asking price. It was lowered on Monday (March 15) to $5.5 million US, a drop of $2.4 million.
The two-story Italian Renaissance-style home has six bedrooms, six bathrooms, three garages, a library, and a media room. Outside there is a pool, spa and cabana.
Spears must be ready to move on. This is the site of the star’s nervous breakdowns in 2007 and 2008. One such event resulted in her brief stay in an L.A. psych hospital after she refused to hand over her children to her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.
It now appears Britney Spears will not be moving in with her boyfriend, agent Jason Trawick, once the house sells. Recent reports say the couple broke it off after dating more than a year.
