Burberry gets into makeup

The English brand launches the Burberry Beauty cosmetics collection.

When you think of the Burberry, you inevitably think of trenchcoats. Now the English brand is taking its trademark one step further with the introduction of a trenchcoat-inspired cosmetics line.

The colours of these Burberry cosmetics are therefore offered in shades of gabardine, trench, smoke, grey and ash.

Already available in Canada and the United States, Burberry Beauty offers liquid foundations, eye pencils, bronzing powders, mascara, eyeliner, lipstick and gloss lip.

There’s good news for Burberry fans: the price of this debut Burberry Beauty collection is not too extravagant. Lipstick runs around $30 while it costs $52 for liquid foundation.

Burberry creative designer Christopher Bailey said he "didn’t want it to be about any one specific type of muse or face." He selected three British beauties, Lily Donaldson, Nina Porter and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, to appear in the ad campaign.

Burberry Beauty complements the wide range of products offered by the English brand, which dresses men, women, children while offering shoes, jewellery and accessories.
