Burt Reynolds Slaps a TV Journalist

Burt Reynolds slapped a journalist and producer from WCBS at the premiere of his film The Longest Yard in Chelsea Theater in New York.

The producer asked Reynolds, 69, about his new movie.  When Reynolds asked the young journalist if he had seen the movie, the CBS employee said that he hadn’t, and he hadn’t seen the original 1974 film either.  Reynolds responded by saying, "What kind of guy are you?", and slapped him in the face.

WCBS showed the footage of the incident Wednesday morning as part of their newscast.

Jeff Lane, a representative for Reynolds, said that the slap was only a playful tap.
