Camembert ice cream in Normandy

Homemade ice cream and sorbets make for tasty travel in France.

If you’re a fan of culinary journeys, follow the advice routard.com (backpacker) and make a stop at the farm of Bois Louvet in the Eure region of Normandy.

The owners of the Saint John of the Lecqueraye farm concoct more than 50 kinds of ice cream and sorbets, including camembert and foie gras flavours.

Adventurous gourmands will certainly be wetting their lips, while others may prefer more traditional flavours like cherry and chocolate.

All of the products are made by hand from the milk and cream prepared from the dairy farm of Bois Louvet.

Even the fruit used in the creation of its ice creams and sorbets are gathered from around the property and nearby orchards wherever possible.
