Canada Voted Best Place To Live

Canada is popular with ex-pats.

In a survey taken of 3,100 HSBC International employees transferred to other countries for work, Canada was rated the easiest in which to establish oneself and to integrate into society.

Respondents were asked to base their answers according to quality of life, housing, food, healthcare, leisure activities, work hours, commuting, and social life.

Australia came in second place, followed by Thailand, in third. What seems to have put the latter in this strong position is that half the respondents reported to have found a mate there – apparently this is much more difficult to accomplish in countries such as India or Qatar.

The countries scoring the lowest were China, Russia, Britain, India, and at the bottom of the list, Qatar.

The rating is based solely on the opinions of the expatriated HSBC workers in the 26 countries who answered the survey.
