Canadian Musicians to Light Up 2010 Olympics

Canadian artists will sizzle the stage at the Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Every evening throughout the Olympic Games, a Canadian artist will give a short performance to highlight the medal ceremony held at Vancouver’s BC Place.

From February 14 through February 26, 2010, the medal ceremonies for speed skating, snowboarding or freestyle skiing will take place in front of spectators at BC Place, and a Canadian artist from a different province will perform and unite the crowd. Among them will be Nelly Furtado, Hedley, Burton Cummings, Great Big Sea, Loverboy, Barenaked Ladies and Billy Talent.

Entitled the Vancouver Victory Ceremonies, the series of concerts are bound to be memorable. Even though having a popular artist perform is no novelty, the task of representing a specific province for the evening will be something special. Tickets are on sale with prices varying from $22 to $50. Every evening at 11:00 pm Eastern Time, the concerts will be broadcast on MuchMusic from coast to coast.
