Cannes Film Festival Unveils Its Program

The programming for the 61st annual Cannes Film Festival has been unveiled.

The lineup of films to be presented at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival was revealed today (April 23).

The movies competing include Guerrilla by Steven Soderbergh, Clint Eastwood’s Changeling, Synechdoche, New York by Charlie Kaufman, and The Silence of Lorna by brothers Jean Pierre and Luc Dardenne.

The most anticipated movie that will be presented is Steven Spielberg’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.  The animated Dreamworks film Kung Fu Panda, as well as Vicky Cristina Barcelona, by Woody Allen are also expected to receive rave reviews.

There will be a total of 54 films from 31 countries presented, and 53 premieres.  The jury president of the 61st annual Cannes Film Festival, which takes place between May 14 to 25, is actor Sean Penn.
