Britain’s The Telegraph reported that Cate Blanchett was offered the part of Maid Marian in the film Nottingham, meaning she would replace Sienna Miller.
Earlier, it was reported that Miller was dropped from the cast, as she seemed too young to play opposite Russell Crowe, who will play both Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Actor Mark Strong, who will be Guy of Gisborne, told the Telegraph that Blanchett would be fabulous in the role.
Filming of the Ridley Scott film is set for March and the movie is expected to open in 2010.
Cate Blanchett will star in Fantastic Mr. Fox, hitting theatres on November 6.
