The legal wrangling surrounding the tragic death of Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust continues, as the film’s armorer was recently sentenced to 18 months in prison for manslaughter.

The spotlight will soon be on Alec Baldwin, also charged with manslaughter in the death of Halyna Hutchins, the director of photography on the set of Rust who died in 2021 after a gun discharged during a rehearsal.

Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the gunsmith in charge at the time of the tragedy, could be called to testify at the actor’s trial, which begins on July 9 with jury selection.

Gutierrez Reed was convicted and sentenced to 18 months in a New Mexico correctional facility, after a jury deliberation lasting less than three hours.

She hopes that Alec Baldwin, who allegedly set off the gun that killed Hutchins and also injured director Joel Souza, will suffer a similar fate at his trial.

According to People, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, who apologized for her role in the tragic accident, criticized the way the media portrayed her. She also strongly contested her conviction. In a recorded telephone conversation from the prison where she is serving her sentence, she reportedly expressed her desire to see Alec Baldwin jailed too.

Georgia’s controversial representative, Marjorie Taylor Greene, adopted a particularly aggressive attitude during her question period on the first day of the hearings, going so far as to refuse to acknowledge Fauci’s medical qualifications and infantilely calling him “Mr. Fauci” rather than “Doctor Fauci”. Fauci responded to the representative by stating that it was this type of comment that had led to numerous death threats against him in connection with these events.

These hearings will focus on the origins of the virus, certain policy measures relating to the pandemic, such as guidelines for social distancing, mandatory vaccination and the wearing of masks by children, as well as certain theories that have circulated, such as that of the laboratory leak.

Republican members of the committee expressed skepticism about the policies promoted by Dr. Fauci, arguing that they were not based on solid scientific evidence.

For their part, the committee’s Democratic members called Dr. Fauci an American hero and vigorously condemned hostile questions against him as totally irresponsible.

During his speech, Dr. Fauci revealed that he had received serious death threats aimed not only at himself, but also at his wife and daughters. The severity of these threats has necessitated ongoing protection. Fauci also mentioned that these threats had had disastrous repercussions on his health. Two individuals were arrested in connection with the threats.

The sharp contrast between Republicans and Democrats at this hearing underscores the continuing political divisions over the management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rumors have been swirling for some time about a film adapted from the acclaimed Peaky Blinders series, which ran for six seasons and ended in 2022.

The film will focus on the character of Tommy Shelby, the series’ iconic gangster played by Murphy.

In addition to reprising his iconic role, Cillian Murphy will join the film team as co-producer of the film. Production is scheduled to start this year.

Tom Harper, who directed 3 episodes of season 1 of the series, will direct the film, and the screenplay is by Steven Knight, who wrote 29 episodes of Peaky Blinders.

Trump has visibly changed his stance since his election campaign, having initially issued an executive order to ban TikTok in the US on national security grounds during his presidential term.

In April, President Joe Biden gave ByteDance, the company behind TikTok, nine months to sell the app or risk seeing it banned in the US. This deadline means that any potential ban would only come into force after the next elections.
