Bradley Cooper on his sobriety: “I’ve been very lucky”.

Actor-director Bradley Cooper spoke to Bear Grylls about his sobriety during an appearance in a Season 2 episode of the popular National Geographic series Running Wild With Bear Grylls.

The actor is now celebrating his 19th year of sobriety, having first sought help in 2004, at the age of 29.

Cooper had realized that his drinking was becoming a problem and decided to seek treatment:

“I got sober at 29, and I’ve been sober for 19 years. I’ve been very lucky,” he says.

The actor also admits to Grylls, as reported by Variety, that his alcoholism helped him in 2018 for the character of Jackson Maine in the very first film he directed, A Star Is Born:

“It made it easier to be able to really enter in there… and thank goodness I was at a place in my life where I was at ease with all of that, so I could really let myself go.”

Cooper’s journey to sobriety is certainly an inspiring example for many struggling with addiction.

Looking to the future, note that Bradley Cooper is retrying the feat of simultaneously directing and starring in his brand-new biographical film about the life of the late conductor Leonard Bernstein in Maestro, out in cinemas on November 22 and on Netflix on December 20.

Trump: A key witness at Mar-A-Lago retracts his testimony

A person identified as Donald Trump’s Employee 4, who was a key witness in the case involving the secret documents illegally stored at Mar-A-Lago, has reportedly recently recanted his testimony in the indictment implicating Trump as well as two other defendants on record.

According to NBC News, Yuscil Taveras reportedly worked at the Mar-A-Lago golf club as director of information technology and was a key material witness in the events leading up to the alleged attempt to erase surveillance camera footage, with the FBI ordering Trump to provide all surveillance footage from Mar-A-Lago.

While under investigation for possible perjury charges, Taveras reportedly changed lawyers, who were previously paid by Trump’s Save America PAC, according to new documents submitted by Jack Smith.

“Immediately after receiving new counsel, Trump Employee 4 recanted his earlier false testimony and provided information that implicated Nauta, [Carlos] De Oliveira and Trump in efforts to suppress security camera footage, as set forth in the superseding indictment,” reads the new document filed in court by Smith.

According to prosecutors on the case, Carlos De Oliveira, Trump’s property manager and co-defendant on the case, attempted to convince Taveras to delete the Mar-a-Lago security footage.

A trial has been set for May 20, 2024, in the case of the classified Mar-a-Lago documents, and Donald J. Trump has pleaded not guilty to 40 counts under the Espionage Act.
