Saguenay teen gets $900,000 for Lewis Hamilton card

Few can boast that they have become near millionaires by the age of 17… yet young Jean-Nicolas Gagnon seems to have achieved the feat with a simple pack of trading cards purchased in 2021 in Saguenay.

The youngster, who had no knowledge of the world of card collecting, was surprised to learn that a card included in a box was the only card autographed, from a 1 on 1 set, by the seven-time Formula 1 champion himself, Lewis Hamilton!

Since the acquisition of the card, offers from stars and collectors have multiplied and it is finally an American entrepreneur who put almost a million on the table (900 000 USD) for this unique card!

This sale would also be a record amount for the acquisition of a Formula 1 card.

Capture Netflix

If you want to know more, Jean-Nicolas Gagnon and his father participated in episode 6, Dreams Do Come True, of the reality show King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch, available on Netflix.

Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Matthew McConaughey and many stars honor Jean-Marc Vallée

Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Laura Dern, stars of the series Big Little Lies directed by Jean-Marc Vallée, are among several Hollywood celebrities who have made financial contributions to the memorial fund in honor of the Quebec director who died tragically on December 25, 2021.

The Director’s Memorial Fund was created by Concordia University to provide an annual scholarship to students of the Mel Hoppenheim School of Film, and has been taken over by Hollywood, as many celebrities have made a donation in the director’s honor.

In addition to several actors from Big Little Lies, Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner from Dallas Buyers Club, a film also directed by Vallée, have reportedly contributed to the fund in memory of the director.

Finally, actress Naomi Watts, who was with Jean-Marc during the filming of Demolition, a movie released in 2015, has also joined the generous donors.

While the amounts of the donations seem confidential, it’s certainly a nice gesture from these stars that shows the director was appreciated by many…

We have to say that we miss Jean-Marc Vallée a lot, such a unique talent.
