A batter hit directly in the face!

Red Sox player Justin Turner was hit in the face by a ball from Matt Manning of the Detroit Tigers during a spring game, and the blow was so severe, blood poured down the plate.

After being hit head-on by the red-seamedball, the former Los Angeles Dodgers player collapsed to the ground in pain and was eventually taken to the nearest hospital.

But like a warrior, he made his way back to the dugout!

Turner fared well under the circumstances with 16 stitches, but with no broken bones and no concussion, which is still a positive for a recovery without much worry.

By the way, according to the team’s report, Turner is reportedly in stable condition, alert and in good spirits under the circumstances.

Recall that the Boston Red Sox added Turner (38) to their roster last December in an effort to add experience and leadership to their lineup.

Aaron Carter’s mother claims he was killed and releases photos to prove it

Jane Schneck, Aaron Carter’s mother, posted a text on Facebook with photos calling for an investigation into her son’s death.

Warning, some of the images may shock some readers.

She claims the coroner ruled his death an accidental drug overdose based solely on his history of drug abuse.

“I want to share these photos of her death scene with all of you because the coroner ruled it an accidental drug overdose,” she writes in her Facebook post.

Schneck actually shared 7 rather gruesome photos she took of the bathroom where Aaron died, in which you can see a bathtub filled with very dirty water and soiled clothes on the floor.

She asks to look at them carefully since, according to her, this is now her only way to move things forward.

This watch from the ’70s is buzzing on TikTok

An entry-level Swiss watch is a hit on TikTok, giving it a second life.

The Tissot PRX, an understated watch from the 1970s that was relaunched last year by the Le Locle, Switzerland-based manufacturer, has become an unexpected viral hit on social media.

The Tissot PRX, a watch priced at just over $800, first appeared on the market in 1978. Since then, the elegant model offered in blue, green, silver, black (the cheapest) or the soon-to-be-commissioned Tiffany mint green, has become a massive success, garnering praise on blogs before exploding on a whole platform that didn’t exist at its birth: TikTok.

The PRX is one of the first watches mentioned when people are looking for the best automatic watch under $1,000. For watch enthusiasts intrigued by ingenious movements and complications, but who don’t want to sell their car to get it, the PRX is an affordable alternative that ticks all the boxes.

Sure, there’s the signature integrated bracelet and sleek dial, but its biggest selling point might be the long power reserve, a term that refers to how long a watch can keep time after its internal spring mechanism has been fully wound. The automatic version of the PRX has a power reserve of up to 80 hours, nearly double what the competition offers.

Perhaps the PRX’s only flaw is its size. The PRX automatic is only available in 40mm.

But, if discussions are to be believed, Tissot is well aware of the demand: a 35mm automatic PRX, a size in which its quartz counterpart is already available as the QTZ, is reportedly on the way!

107,436 vehicles recalled by Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and BMW

Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and BMW have recalled a total of 107,436 vehicles nation wide due to major safety defects. The main “culprit” in this little story remains Hyundai.

The Koreanautomaker said ina statement that several of its late-model Genesis vehicles were found to have defective seat belts that could explode in a crash.

65,517 Genesis SUVs and sedans are the vehicles targeted by a problem “that could cause a portion of the seat belt pretensioner to explode,” and project metal fragments to passengers, according to NHTSA documents.

Owners affected by this recall will be notified on April 17, 2023.

Affected vehicles include:

9,720 Genesis G80 2021-2023
940 Genesis GV60 2022-2023
21,917 Genesis GV70 2022-2023
32,940 Genesis GV80 2020-2023

On the Mercedes Benz side, the problem in question in the affected cars would be the ABS system.

26,116 SUVs will be recalled due to the anti-lock braking system and the electronic stability program that could be unstable, and increase the risk of an accident.

Owners will be recalled by April 18.

15,098 Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 2019-2021

At BMW, as many as 15,803 SUVs would end up with defective driver airbags, according to information delivered by NHTSA. The airbags reportedly do not fully meet vehicle specifications.

The Weeknd is better than Taylor Swift, Drake and Miley Cyrus

Toronto-based artist The Weeknd has become the first artist on Spotify to break the 100 million monthly listener mark, a colossal feat.

This achievement was made a few days after dropping a remix of his excellent track Die For You with Ariana Grande, whom he joined for the 4th time in his career.

The Weeknd is therefore ahead of top artists such as Miley Cyrus (82.5 million listeners), Taylor Swift (89.3 million) and the rapper Drake (68.6 million), also his friend.

During his career, The Weeknd has raised four Grammy Awards, 20 Billboard Music Awards, while being nominated for an Oscar and an Emmy, too.

It’s also worth noting that in 2021, his mind-boggling cover of Blinding Lights became the first song in Billboard Hot 100 history to remain in the Top 10 for a full year.

This plateau is certainly a point of pride for The Weeknd as this song and his album After Hours were “snubbed” at the Grammy Awards nominations, after a stellar performance at the Super Bowl.
