The Sainte-Justine Foundation receives a historic donation

The Sainte-Justine Foundation has received a historic and monumental donation.

On December 15, philanthropists Ms. Diane Blais and Mr. Michel Lanteigne, two former executives of the accounting firm Ernst & Young, pledged $40 million.

Instagram

This personal donation from the couple will be used for pediatric research, including a portion for oncology.

Note that Mr. Lanteigne’s son, Benoit, died of leukemia at the age of eight and for years has been pondering his legacy.

From now on, the building of the specialized units of the Sainte-Justine will bear the name of Michel Lanteigne’s child, Benoît Lanteigne.

Obviously, the couple hopes that this donation will influence other to deposit amounts for the advancement of other research projects that need funding.

Data indicates that the cure rate for children with cancer is barely over 80%, which shows that medicine still needs financial support to push research further.

A crazed stalker attacked Elon Musk’s car and his son was inside

Elon Musk has been in the news for the past week, and one of the latest cases once again involves that student who created an account on Twitter to post information about the billionaire’s private flights.

Musk eventually blocked the account in question, but it looks like since that decision, his safety and that of his family are no less challenged as a crazed stalker attacked his car with his son inside!

While a car was transporting Musk’s two-year-old son, an unknown person was following the car and he abruptly blocked the vehicle, even climbing on the hood…

The boss of Tesla and Twitter accuses the system of tracking thefts set up by the teenager.

Itis in this state of mind that Musk has taken legal action against the one who exposes his position publicly. That’s really what led to this attack, according to Elon Musk.

Legal action is being taken against young programmer Jack Sweeney, the one who opened an account that tracks all of Elon’s flights since 2020.

Is it a coincidence that this incident occurred after Twitter decided to block the account in question?

Amber Heard drops her appeal against Johnny Depp

Amber Heard made the announcement on Instagram earlier today (Dec. 19) that she was dropping her appeal process that she began in early December following the ruling in her defamation lawsuit against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.

According to TMZ, a settlement, very favorable to the actress, was reached between Depp and Heard, and Amber would only pay $1 million of the $10.5 million ordered by the jury.

One wonders, however, what the reason for this sudden change is.

Will we soon see an announcement about a new professional project for the actress?

Or does she simply want to turn the page on this dark period of her life and focus on her family life, especially with her daughter Oonagh Paige Heard?

Certainly, the monetary agreement played a big role…

Recall that the trial of the ex-spouses was one of the most followed events of the year, when Depp accused Heard of damaging his reputation and a jury agreed with him.

However, hate messages against the actress have increased tenfold this year on the heels of the high-profile trial and Johnny’s fan club has not been kind to the actress.

Who is Bernard Arnault, the billionaire who dethroned Elon Musk?

Do you know Bernard Arnault? Without any fanfare, Arnault dethroned Elon Musk as the richest person in the world. Musk has therefore been relegated to second place in this list.

The gentleman is by no means polarizing, he is very discreet, unlike Musk, and he runs his French luxury company LVMH with a masterful hand.

Arnault is the first European to top Bloomberg’s list of the world’s richest people, having already knocked Musk off the top rung of Forbes’ “real-time billionaires” list last week.

Recall that Musk’s net worth, the already controversial new owner of Twitter, dropped from $107 billion in 2022, again according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

In the case of Arnault, the drop was less drastic, by “only” $7 billion.

Despite a heavy loss due to his purchase of the social network, Musk’s fortune is comfortably ahead of Indian industrialist Gautam Adani ($125 billion) and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($116 billion).

In closing, let’s point out that Tesla’s share price fell by 54% in 2022, while LVMH’s share price retained its value due to colossal sales in the US and Europe.

Elon Musk was quick to block this infamous Twitter account!

Since he acquired Twitter at a cost of $44 billion, Elon Musk has been very variable in managing moderation.

That said, after promising not to delete the account reporting his jet’s travels, he finally turned his cap on suspending it!

Beforehand, he had mentioned that his commitment to free speech forbade him to block the account that follows his jet, even if it represented a risk to his personal safety.

This student-run account, which has no less than 500,000 followers (@ElonJet), has not been shy about using public data to inform people about Musk‘s movements in the sky.

It’s true that “if the data is public,” it can be shared. In the Twitter rules, there is the point that data from other sites can be deposited there.

If Musk and his team have deleted the @ElonJet account, the personal account of the student, Jack Sweeney, is still accessible.

Recall that Musk’s leaked messages since his purchase of Twitter are very contradictory of what is and isn’t allowed, especially since he himself crosses the line too often.

For example, he reinstated Donald Trump’s account, but suspended Kanye West’s.

By the way, the teenager who posts Musk’s private jet movements is now sharing them from Facebook and Instagram, obviously.
