A 2nd whistleblower dies suddenly in the Boeing case

Two whistleblowers associated with Boeing, who had voiced strong criticism of the company’s business practices and raised safety and negligence concerns, died tragically within weeks of each other.

Joshua Dean, 45, a former quality auditor at Spirit AeroSystems, one of Boeing’s major suppliers, recently died of a fulminant and unknown illness.

He worked for Spirit AeroSystems in 2019.

He had raised safety concerns that he felt were neglected during the production of the Boeing 737 MAX. According to various reports, Dean’s concerns included improperly drilled holes in certain bulkheads of components used for the 737 Max.

Dean was fired less than a month before his death, a move he interpreted as retaliation for his criticism. He also saw himself as a scapegoat used by the company to hide production defects. His health deteriorated rapidly after he was admitted to hospital with respiratory problems.

John Barnett, another ex-Boeing employee who had strongly criticized the company’s business practices, died suddenly in what is suspected to have been a suicide. His death came a few weeks before Dean’s.

Barnett was discovered dead in his car, the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound while testifying against Boeing. Several weeks before his death, he had expressed concerns about what he perceived as retaliation after exposing faulty production practices at Boeing South Carolina, particularly in relation to the 787 Dreamliner.

The deaths have caused deep concern among members of the aviation community and critics alike, who fear they could deter future whistleblowers.

What happened with Britney at the Chateau Marmont?

Britney Spears was the center of attention after spending an eventful night at the Château Marmont in West Hollywood. The singer, who has just wrapped up her long-running legal battle over guardianship, was seen leaving the establishment barefoot, wearing only a blanket and pillow to cover her breasts.

It was enough to set off alarm bells among her admirers.

Britney was accompanied by her new flame, Richard Paul Soliz. The lovebirds reportedly took advantage of the evening to party in the singer’s suite. Police received a disturbance call at around 10pm on Wednesday evening. However, after checking the situation, the police left the scene without taking any further action. The singer and her boyfriend then went back to celebrating and drinking, until things got a bit heated.

Richard Paul Soliz/Capture

The altercation between Spears and Soliz – with whom she had already teamed up after her August 2023 split with Sam Asghari – added to the drama of the evening. This would have occurred before a strange leg injury, which would have been the cause of the call to the emergency services, around midnight.

However, many suspect that it was more a call about the state of the singer’s mental health…

It only took a few hours for the singer to deny the whole situation. In a first publication, she mentioned that the people identified as her and Richard Paul were rather stand-ins. She then added that she had indeed injured her ankle, but that the cause was a jump in the lounge of her suite at the Château.

She also  shared a video of her swollen foot on Instagram, in which she declared:

She then complained about the illegal arrival of paramedics for a minor injury that only required ice, according to her.

Seized by a new burst of emotion, the singer then expressed her anger and doubts about her mother Lynne Spears, to whom she no longer speaks. Britney asserted that Lynne was involved in the events of the previous day, saying that it was definitely a plot against her.

Once again, the pop icon doesn’t seem to be in a stable state.

We wish her all the best in getting the help she needs so that she can finally be at peace.

It’s a pity, given that the Britney Spears clan had just reached an agreement with her father, Jamie, in the guardianship case, putting a final end to the whole saga just a few days ago.

Trump gloomy (and frankly, disturbing) in his TIME interview

Former President Donald Trump clarified and elaborated on his vision for his presidential tenure if he returns to the Oval Office in 2025, in a stunning interview with TIME. Trump reveals a highly controversial platform focused on immigration and conservative abortion policies.

A downright dark and disturbing interview.

Immigration, one of the main points of his previous election campaign, remains at the forefront of his 2024 campaign. While Trump promised in 2016 to build a wall on the southern border and make Mexico pay for it, this broken promise has become the symbol of his immigration policy that Trump wants to shake up.

In an interview with TIME magazine, the former president announces that he’s going to go much further with his policies, suggesting that the US military be deployed to help, in his view, deport more than 11 million undocumented immigrants. Trump believes that immigration is a threat to the viability of the United States.

Donald Trump, who appointed Supreme Court justices responsible for overturning Roe v. Wade, has said he’d rather see states retain their ability to determine abortion laws, rather than have a federal ban.

Trump distances himself from abortion legislation and maintains that decisions should be made by the states, and that they could monitor women’s pregnancies to determine whether they have abortions.

Now, that is worrying…

Donald Trump makes several disturbing points in his TIME interview, including claiming he was too nice the first time…

One thing’s for sure, several controversial policies remain at the forefront of his 2024 campaign.

TikTok’s days are officially numbered!

President Joe Biden has signed a package of national security measures, including the controversial banning of social network TikTok. With this decision, TikTok’s days in the U.S. are now officially numbered.

As part of a bill designed to strengthen US national security, a provision has been approved by both the House of Representatives and the Senate. This legislation requires ByteDance to sell TikTok within 9 to 12 months, failing which the social network will be banned nationwide.

Getty Images

The decision to ban TikTok in the US was the result of lengthy parliamentary debates and multiple attempts by lawmakers to restrict the app on national security grounds, due to concerns that Chinese authorities could access US users’ data.

ByteDance, the company that owns TikTok, denies the existence of any such risks and claims to have significant measures in place to secure US users’ data against foreign interference.

Getty Images

Given TikTok’s popularity with young and old alike, who use the platform for a variety of purposes ranging from entertainment to political engagement and as a business tool, this decision could have notable repercussions.

The directors of TikTok have stated that they intend to take the case to court. They claim that the forced transfer is unconstitutional and detrimental to TikTok as well as to the businesses and users who depend on the platform.

Getty Images

TikTok’s ban is causing heated debate in the American political landscape. Both advocates and opponents of the measure have voiced their opinions. Critics argue that banning TikTok could harm small entrepreneurs and content creators who use the platform.

The deadline for the sale of TikTok is fast approaching, captivating general attention on the outcome of this affair.
