Kansas City Chiefs fan Xavier Babudar, better known as “ChiefsAholic”, pleaded guilty to bank robbery and money laundering recently.
Remember that this over-the-top fanatic, who wears a werewolf disguise with a Chiefs jersey, caused a furor on social media last year due to a months-long manhunt (following robberies he committed).
According to the Department of Justice report, the 29-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of money laundering and multi-state transportation of stolen property.
A Kansas City Chiefs superfan known as the Chiefsaholic pleaded guilty in federal court on charges related to a string of bank robberies across seven states, prosecutors said, adding that he had used some of the money to gamble on his favorite team. https://t.co/MXyzMEiy7X
During his plea, Babudar indicated that he had carried out no less than nine bank robberies in 2022, as well as two other hold-ups while running away from the police last year.
He subsequently laundered the money he stole with the help of local casinos and online gambling.
To right the wrongs he caused, Babudar will have to pay $532,675 in restitution to the banks he robbed, and property related to his money-laundering activities will be confiscated, including a painting autographed by Patrick Mahomes, his idol and quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs!
Babudar will be sentenced on July 10, and faces a maximum sentence of 50 years in prison without the possibility of parole…
Families in Glasgow, Scotland, were left disappointed when the Willy Wonka-themed event they had been looking forward to failed to live up to the expectations they had placed in it.
The event, aptly named Willy’s Chocolate Experience, failed to live up to its magical promise and triggered widespread frustration, even scaring the children.
The police were called to the scene, while the story spread like wildfire on the Internet.
By Saturday afternoon, the Willy Wonka-themed experience had been canceled and local police confirmed to NBC News that they were called to the scene after attendees who felt conned began demanding refunds. https://t.co/AzO0gdPY6D
Magical promises turned to disaster when ticket holders who had paid $44 each found themselves in a sterile warehouse, instead of the promised “optical wonders” and “extraordinary objects”.
Social media users were quick to share photos of the sparsely decorated, gloomy facility. This was in stark contrast to the advertised fantasy.
Organizers had promised guests “whimsical performances” as well as a wide variety of treats as they immersed themselves in “a world of pure imagination”. Families received meager portions of sweets and left disappointed and deceived.
Organizers were unprepared, as guests and performers reported. Actors were given scripts just before the event and had to improvise in the chaos.

On a Facebook group created by disillusioned attendees, they voiced their complaints.
They recounted how their children had been given jelly beans and others had run away from the supposedly enchanting, but not scary, characters.
The organization apologized after the negative reactions. It admitted that the event had gone badly, and acknowledged the frustrations of not being able to deliver the enchanting experience promised.

Gisele Bündchen, who recently divorced NFL legend Tom Brady, has been surrounded since the split by rumors of a romance with Joaquim Valente.
While many question the timeline of the split, Brady himself has reportedly made Bünchen’s dating rumors official, indicating that his ex and Valente have been lovers for a long time.
Long before his divorce from the model, even, it seems.
Bünchen initially dismissed the relationship as speculation. However, the relationship does exist… and while it was initially intended to be “strictly platonic”, many close friends and family now describe it as a “deep romance”.
People first reported that Bünchen began dating Valente in June 2023. This certainly suggests a “slow” approach.
However, TMZ, the Daily Mail and other media outlets have reported that Bünchen’s romance with Valente may date back further than 2023, which Brady has now reportedly confirmed.
Those close to the best quarterback in NFL history have said that Brady believes Valente is a good person and may even consider him as a possible father figure for his children, should the relationship progress along its current trajectory.
WeightWatchers International has been rocked by unexpected news: one of its most influential board members, Oprah Winfrey, has announced that she will not be standing for election next May.
This statement was confirmed by the company, sending shockwaves through the organization.
Oprah’s departure coincides with a financial crisis for WW. In 2023, its losses doubled to $88 million.
It seems that the company is suffering the repercussions of the rise in popularity of Ozempic-type weight-loss drugs, which are in high demand worldwide.
Ironically, it seems to be precisely for this reason that Oprah would slam the door on WeightWatchers, she who admitted to using a weight-loss drug, without naming Ozempic, a reference that everyone was quick to understand, however.
Winfrey’s decision had a significant impact on the market, causing WeightWatchers shares to drop by more than 27% following the announcement.
Over the past few months, the celebrity has proudly flaunted a slimmer figure, attributing the change to medical treatment. Winfrey reportedly took the decision to leave the WeightWatchers board to avoid any perceived conflict of interest in relation to her use of personal weight-loss drugs.
WeightWatchers finds itself at a crucial point in its future, facing the rise of the medical weight-loss industry, rightly or wrongly.

The Texas Panhandle is the epicenter of a series of fast-moving wildfires. These fires have prompted a strong response, triggering record destruction and community evacuations. Emergency services are working to cope with the scale of these fires across the state.
At least one person has died as a result of fires in the Texas Panhandle, an official says. One of the wildfires has scorched over 850,000 acres. Follow live updates. https://t.co/aMso3b4EbO
The fire spread over 1.1 million acres in what is being called a devastating and historic event, becoming the largest fire ever recorded in Texas. The West Odessa Volunteer Fire Department reports that the Hutchinson County fire is barely contained.
The Pantex plant is one of the facilities affected. It is the only nuclear assembly and disassembly facility in the United States, located near Amarillo. It was necessary to evacuate all non-essential personnel and suspend plant operations. However, it has been confirmed that no special materials were affected by the fires.
The ongoing disaster has claimed many victims.
The fires are spreading rapidly and the low humidity, combined with strong winds, is making the task difficult. The rapid increase in the number of fires has prompted federal agencies to reprioritize emergency services and attracted the attention of the White House.
Texas authorities are urging residents to be vigilant and limit any activity that could start a fire.
They are also asking them to follow local evacuation instructions.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Forest Service and the National Interagency Fire Center are all contributing to this crisis. However, the full extent of the damage will only be known once the fires have subsided.
