Discovery CEO David Zaslav expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming Harry Potter TV series. He shared details of recent discussions in London between Warner executives and J.K. Rowling.
Both parties warmly welcomed the project, suggesting a promising new chapter for the franchise. Zaslav recalled that the last film was made over 12 years ago, underlining the opportunity for a new adventure in the Harry Potter universe.
The CEO’s announcement has sparked worldwide enthusiasm among fans, who are eagerly awaiting the release of this new series. But speculation as to the possible participation of the original Harry Potter actors is in vain.
Although he rejected the idea of his return in the new series in an interview, Daniel Radcliffe said the series deserved a complete new beginning. He pointed to the emergence of a new generation of Harry Potter fans expected in two years’ time, when the new adventures in the saga are released.
It’s worth remembering that production of Harry Potter: The Series has been underway since at least 2021 at Max, and that Warner Bros. has confirmed its commitment to broadcasting the series over a 10-year period! Author J.K. Rowling has also taken on the role of executive producer, guaranteeing a faithful adaptation of her novels and the Harry Potter universe.
