Mike Pence is now a witness at Trump’s Georgia trial

Former Vice President Mike Pence’s name has been added to the list of possible witnesses in the election subversion case against Donald Trump in Georgia, CNN reports.

This means that Pence could be called to testify about Trump’s alleged attempts to reverse the results of the 2020 election.

Mike Pence has been added to a list of more than 150 witnesses in the case, and the fact that he has been added to the list is a major development… and a sign that prosecutors certainly intend to use his testimony when the case goes to trial.

Pence has sharply criticized claims by Trump and his allies that election fraud was committed.

Pence had previously stated that he was prepared to appear in court as part of the federal voter fraud trial, and his testimony will be crucial due to his intimate knowledge and understanding of the Trump administration in the post-election period.

Donald Trump is charged with several offenses in connection with alleged attempts to interfere in the Georgia election. He has also been indicted along with 18 others by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis as part of a wide-ranging investigation.

Four co-defendants have already accepted plea deals in exchange for testimony and cooperation against the former president.

The fact that former allies are now potential witnesses in the case could increase the pressure on Trump’s legal team, and Pence’s testimony and the information provided by those who have agreed to plead guilty could greatly harm Trump as the case progresses.

Prosecutors have proposed the date of August 5, 2024 for this trial, which is sure to be one of the most eagerly awaited of the coming year.

Pierre Poilievre wants to ruin Justin Trudeau’s Christmas

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre has threatened to derail Justin Trudeau’s legislative agenda if Trudeau doesn’t agree to scrap parts of the carbon tax, promising to introduce thousands of amendments to government legislation that could force the Canadian Parliament to stay in session… until Christmas!

This detailed threat by the Conservative Party to demand more than 100 votes on the government’s estimates represents a serious challenge to the Commons calendar and could force the session to be extended beyond the scheduled recess when the House of Commons only adjourns on December 15 for the vacations.

The Conservatives would focus on the Sustainable Jobs Act, reports CBC, with around 20,000 amendments!

Justin Trudeau called Poilievre’s threats in the House of Commons mere political maneuvering.

The Prime Minister insists his party will continue to push its agenda despite the disruption.

Biden says he wouldn’t run again if Trump wasn’t there

Joe Biden, President of the United States, has said in the past that his decision to run in 2020 would have been different if Donald Trump hadn’t entered the race, but he recently added to his comments, which surprised many, at a recent fundraiser in Boston, when he told Democratic supporters that he was only entering the race because Trump wanted to be re-elected.

Biden declared:

“If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d run.”

Then he added:

“We can’t let him win.”

This is a rare revelation from President Biden in which he directly links his desire for a second term to the goal of stopping Trump’s political renaissance, and the statement caught many of his top political campaign officials and advisors off guard.

Joe Biden’s stance on Donald Trump’s candidacy is not unprecedented, since he has repeatedly portrayed Trump, particularly after Charlottesville, as a threat to American democracy. And the bizarre statements made during a Fox News town hall debate, broadcast live and hosted by Sean Hannity, in which the former president alluded to the possibility of him becoming a dictator should he win the election, only give further ammunition to Biden’s convictions.

Trump won’t be a dictator, “except on day one”

Former President Donald Trump once again sparked controversy during a televised Town Hall with Fox News host Sean Hannity, during an exchange in which he was asked about his past rhetoric and potential for abuse of power.

Hannity asked Trump a series of questions during the interview, but one in particular stood out:

“Under no circumstances, you are promising America tonight, you would never abuse power as retribution against anybody?”, Hannity asked, to which Trump replied:

“Except for day one.”

The former U.S. president’s response confused and prompted several questions, and was notably criticized by Biden’s campaign manager:

“Donald Trump has been telling us exactly what he will do if he’s reelected and tonight he said he will be a dictator on day one. Americans should believe him.”

It remains to be seen how Trump’s comments will affect his supporters or discourage undecided votes for the 2024 US elections!
