AJ McLean discusses bullying and substance abuse problems

“I’ve been battling these for nearly 25 years.”

AJ McClean of the Backstreet Boys was in Montreal to promote The Fashion Hero: A New Kind of Beautiful.

A television project that puts the spotlight on beauty in many forms, and allows a contestant to be the next face of a brand.

It was during his visit to the city that he found himself on the set of Ça finit bien la semaine, where he opened up about several personal aspects of his life, including the bullying he experienced and his addiction problems.

“AJ, some of the participants are victims of bullying, others of body dysmorphia, use drugs and alcohol. You said you can relate to all of them. In what way?” asked host Jean-Michel Anctil.

“I was bullied as a child. You know, I grew up doing a lot of musicals, so I didn’t do sports and most of my friends were girls because I was that kind of quiet kid, very outgoing and very friendly. I think I made it easy for girls to be comfortable with me, unlike the jocks who would say: Hey, babe! I try to be more respectful,” he said his youth.

The singer went on to talk about his substance abuse problems.

“When it comes to drugs and alcohol, everyone knows that I’ve been battling these for nearly 25 years. Today, I’ve been sober for two years (…) Even with body dysmorphia for me, this problem was directly related to drug and alcohol abuse: Significant weight gain or weight loss,” the international star added.

He also revealed that it was something that touched him when his daughters criticized themselves in the mirror… and thus adds motivation for him to put forward beauty in many forms.

Wow, a superb statement from an artist who has come a long way.

Kidnapped girl found thanks to suspect mistake

A 9-year-old girl has been found alive and well, just days after disappearing under disturbing circumstances, thanks to a fingerprint left by a suspect on a ransom note.

The young girl had disappeared under very disturbing circumstances while camping with her parents in New York State.

Little Charlotte Sena had gone for a bike ride on Saturday evening. Her bike was later found without her, prompting fears of the worst and a massive search operation by the authorities.

But the young girl was found safe and sound, hidden in the kitchen cupboards of a suspect, after the latter was traced thanks to the fingerprints he left on a ransom note he had allegedly placed in the mailbox of the girl’s parents.

This extraordinary turn of events was a real stroke of luck for the victim, since the fingerprints of the suspect, identified as Craig Nelson Ross Jr. were on file with the police when he was arrested for drunk driving in 1999!

Since the report of little Charlotte’s disappearance, authorities had quickly suspected abduction and activated an Amber Alert, and they had used maximum resources to find her, including tracing cellular waves in the area, but also with an officer stationed near the residence of the girl’s parents.

It was this officer who spotted a strange individual near the family home on Monday morning. The suspect left something in the mailbox and then quickly left in his vehicle. It was a ransom note, and the man was followed, while the letter was quickly analyzed.

It’s a happy ending worthy of a movie… and certainly a happy one for this family who have lived through several days of horror.

Did Cher organize the kidnapping of her own son?

Did singer Cher organize the kidnapping of her 47-year-old son, Elijah Blue Allman, while he was with his wife, Marie Angela King, in a New York hotel on the evening of their wedding anniversary?

Whew!

That’s the story reported by Variety, a case alleged by Marie Angela King herself and revealed via documents obtained on the heels of her divorce from Cher’s son, at the center of this kidnapping story.

According to Variety, the couple had marital problems and spent several days in a New York hotel in 2021, working on their relationship. According to King’s testimony, which can be read in the legal documents, the stay was abruptly interrupted by four men who forced Cher’s son out of the hotel room, while one of them claimed they were acting under instructions from… Cher herself!

King even claims she hasn’t seen the man she married in 2013 since the events:

“I am currently unaware of my husband’s wellbeing or whereabouts.”

“I am very concerned and worried about him,” King continued in her statement.

Also according to Variety, Allman, who has been battling a drug addiction for many years, was allegedly taken to a forcible treatment center under the direction of his mother, something King seems to corroborate in the documents in question:

“Since August 2022, I have been told that I am not allowed to see or speak to [Allman] who is currently in lockdown at a treatment facility that is undisclosed to me. I am also told [Allman] has no access to his phone.”

Few details of the divorce resolution are available at the time of writing, and the singer has yet to comment on the allegations made by her son’s wife.

Donald Trump’s fraud trial begins in New York!

“No one is above the law.”

The civil fraud trial opened in New York on Monday, October 2, as Trump faces charges of overstating his businesses and properties.

Donald Trump is accused of falsely inflating the value of his business empire and his net worth by billions of dollars, in order to obtain better business contracts, financial loans and interest rates, among other things.

The details of these charges are overwhelming, as he is accused of persistent and repeated fraud, falsification of business records, conspiracy to falsify business records, publishing false financial statements, conspiracy to falsify financial statements, insurance fraud and conspiracy to commit insurance fraud.

CaptureCNN

Cameras were briefly allowed into the classroom before the court proceedings began, as Trump sat with his lawyers.

The judge has already ruled in the majority of this case, that Trump overvalued his businesses and properties for fraudulent financial gain, and declared:

“It’s a fantasy world… not the real world.”

Certainly harsh words about the management of Trump’s businesses by Donald Trump and his sons.

CaptureCNN

Trump, who was not required to be present at the opening of this civil trial, is banking on the publicity it will bring for his presidential campaign, but New York Attorney General Letitia James’ message before the trial is clear:

“My message is simple. No matter how powerful you are… No matter how much money you think you may have… Nobody is above the law.”

Getty Images

The attorney general in the case is seeking $250 million in damages, banishment from serving as officers of a New York company and a five-year ban on business transactions, which would put an end to the Trump Organization.

CaptureCNN

Recall that the Trump Organization has developed and managed a wide range of real estate properties, including luxury condominiums, office buildings, hotels and resorts. Some of the most famous properties include the Trump Tower in New York and the Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. The organization has operated Trump-branded hotels and resorts in various parts of the world. These properties are often associated with luxury and upscale accommodations.

Getty images

Donald Trump was, in fact, the face of the organization for many years, but stepped away from day-to-day operations while President of the United States. His children, in particular Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump, played an important role in running the company.

Getty Images

Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump are also targeted in the fraud trial, while Ivanka Trump was cleared of all charges earlier this year.

The former President of the United States is expected to testify in his defense next week, while the trial is expected to last until December 22.
