A marathon runner chain smokes during his 42km

The most unusual thing you’ll read today: a Chinese man in his fifties smokes a pack of cigarettes during a marathon, and he “smoked” a multitude of runners with a mind-blowing time of 3 hours 28 minutes.

https://twitter.com/CanadianRunning/status/1592198475122642945

The man known as “Uncle Chen” smoked one cigarette after another during the Xin’anjiang marathon in Jiande, China, on November 6.

Photos of Chen have gone viral on the web, as he is seen smoking.

The organization of the marathon even shared his time since it remains a real fact, but unreal at the same time.

Chen crossed the finish line in 574th place out of just over 1500 runners present at this colossal event.

Note that in 2018, during the Guangzhou Marathon, he took cigars and presented a time of 3 hours 36 minutes.

He did it before in 2019, during the Xiamen Marathon, that time smoking cigars, and dropping a time of 3 hours 32.

However, the runners who are near him during the 42km route dit not really appreciate this smoking session, which raised a lot of criticism towards the man… 🤣

This prestigious Pink Floyd exhibition comes to Montreal!

The iconic band Pink Floyd will now exhibit in Montreal, five years after the creation of Their Mortal Remains in London.

Their Mort al Remains is coming to Montreal, at the Arsenal art contemporain center this Friday (November 4th), to present a prestigious classic exhibition that is also an immersive experience.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CjXpsTislYI/?hl=fr

This exhibition highlights the colossal journey of the band Pink Floyd, from the psychedelic years to the albums that were made as a trio in the ’90s.

The great eras of Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall are also highlighted, which were dominated “by the neuroses of bassist Roger Waters“.

https://twitter.com/LP_Musique/status/1588110751038078976

Among the memorabilia on display are memorabilia from each of the members, posters, David Gilmour‘s guitars, and more.

The atmosphere is fully “Pink Floyd,” according to Nick Mason, as are the stage sets reminiscent of the band’s heyday.

On top of that, more technical stations are built, showing the stages of the band’s creation, including music, sound, lighting and cover design.

The link between Pink Floyd and Montreal is also very strong because of a concert that took place on July 6th 1977 at the Olympic Stadium.

During the show, Roger Waters spat (!) on the audience and this sequence became the starting point of the mythical album The Wall.

An innovative 100% green restaurant!

Chef Tim Moroney ‘s Alentours restaurant in Quebec City’s Saint-Sauveur district is entirely focused on the environment after four years of research and development!

During those four years, Chef Moroney has been in dialogue with 250 independent farmers, and has taken the trouble to travel to the 64 partners with whom Alentours now fills its restaurant.

To build this unique type of restaurant, Tim drew on extensive research and his own investigations of other reputable restaurants that use this type of environmentally conscious system.

The tasting menu offers customers five courses, allowing them to fully experience the origins of the food and ingredients. Customers also learn how to eat, cook and work in a sustainable manner.

The restaurant ‘s priority for wines and ciders is to prioritize those that are fermented on natural yeast and “organically grown”. For beers, they must be brewed with 90% local malts to be served at Alentours!

When we introduce ourselves to the restaurant and its dining room, discussions revolve around how kitchens “can revalue whey, how urban hydroponics can make our winters greener and why only one meat dish appears on the menu”.

It’s also worth noting that everything from food to towels goes into the compost!

The passion for 100% green is at its peak at the restaurant, which claims a 100% clean energy rate, and can pride itself on being transparent and consistent in its role of taking full care of the environment for the future.

By the way, all employees there are paid the same salary and share the tip equally!

The most extraordinary thing about the Alentours concept, as the name indicates, is that the products used come from a maximum radius of 250 kilometers.

An extraordinary initiative!

The SAQ is raising prices!

The SAQ, like many other businesses, is not immune to inflation, so it had to increase its prices by about 2.4%. At least that is the reason the company offers to justify this sudden increase.

1458 products, including wines and spirits, will see their prices increase from November 6, except for a few that will be increased from January 29… because they are currently on promotion.

Nevertheless, 1389 products will not be affected by the economic context, while 539 others will suffer an increase of only 1.3%, reports TVA Nouvelles.

Unfortunately, the inflation that has been affecting us for the past few months affects many products, and wines and spirits will also be part of this range.

The SAQ’s suppliers have to fight with several major challenges, which would influence production costs, while counting the labor shortage, in addition to the price increase in products related to bottling, we are told.
