Actress Catherine Keener (The 40 Year Old Virgin, What Just Happened) is on board for the film Percy Jackson, under the direction of Christopher Columbus.
The film is an adaptation of the fantasy adventure books by Rick Riordan.
These books follow Greek gods living in the modern world, including Percy, Poseidon’s half-human son, who goes on a quest to America to prevent a war from breaking out between the gods. Percy will be played by Logan Lerman (The Number 23).
Keener will play the mother of the young man. She will strive to protect him from strange forces, but will be abducted by Hades.
Pierce Brosnan, Uma Thurman, Sean Bean, Kevin McKidd and Melina Kanakaredes complete the cast.
Catherine Keener will soon be seen on the big screen in The Soloist, alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx. The film opens in theatres on April 24.
