Catherine Keener is known for her work in the movies, The 40 Year Old Virgin and Capote. She will be playing opposite Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. in this Joe Wright film.
Downey will play Lopez, while Foxx will play Ayers. Keener will play Lopez’s wife.
The movie is based ont he true story of the musical prodigy Nathaniel Ayers. Ayers developed schizophrenia in his second year of studies at Juilliard, and ended up homeless playing violin on the streets.
The screenplay was written by Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich). She was inspired by a story written in the Los Angeles Times by Steve Lopez who became close to Ayers over the years.
Filming will begin in January.
