Zeta-Jones has accepted a role in the Stephen Sondheim Broadway musical, A Little Night Music.
The star, who won an Oscar in 2002 for her performance in Chicago, will now be playing Desiree in the musical about couples and their relationships.
Television star and thespian, Angela Landsbury, 83, will play Zeta-Jones’ mother. A source from the New York Post revealed, "The great Angela Lansbury agreed to play Madame Armfeldt, provided the producers lined up another star to play her daughter, Desiree."
Apparently, Zeta-Jones received a personal call from writer Stephen Sondheim himself.
The show was last performed in London in March, and ran for four months.
