After Latvia’s surprising victory over the USA in the consolation final, it was time for the grand final.
For the occasion, our Canadians faced the Germans. A chance for Samuel Montembeault and Justin Barron to win the gold medal.
From the start of the match, Germany seemed in no way intimidated by their opponents. Buffalo Sabres forward JJ Peterka took advantage of a bad shift to beat the Canadian goalie.

André Tourigny challenged the goal for offside, but after review, the on-ice call stood.
1-0 Germany.
After running out a numerical disadvantage (due to the failed challenge), the Canadians created the tie thanks to Samuel Blais, who is having quite a tournament. Peyton Krebs and Jake Neighbours picked up the assists.

Moritz Seider picked up his second assist of the game on the sequence.
But once again, Tourigny’s team didn’t give up. On the power play, the patience of Mackenzie Weegar and Peyton Krebs paid off. Lawson Crouse tied the game. 2-2.

Canada started the third period strong. The team buzzed and their efforts paid off. Samuel Blais (who else?) gave his nation the lead for the first time in the game. It was his second goal of the game.
3-2.

This edition of the French Open got off to a flying start.
A hard-fought victory for Fernandez and a new logo for Félix.
But above all, Sabalenka’s first outing on the war involving her country.
Expected remarks. https://t.co/du5xwSKZwn
