Céline a no show in Vancouver

Céline Dion explains why she missed the opening ceremonies of the Vancouver Olympics.

Singer Céline Dion did not attend the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics because she thought she would be too pregnant, reports Starpulse.

Her absence raised questions because many fans expected her to perform last Friday (February 12) in Vancouver.

Canadian artists Sarah McLachlan, Nelly Furtado, Bryan Adams, K.D. Lang and Garou performed at the event.

Céline Dion’s rep has set the record straight. She explains that the singer pulled out of the event last year when she found out she was pregnant. She unfortunately suffered a miscarriage a few weeks later.

After four unsuccessful attempts at in-vitro fertilization, the singer recently revealed that she is not giving up and still hopes to have a second child.

René-Charles, her child with husband and manager René Angélil, is now 9 years old.

Dion was actually in New York last week for fertility treatments.
