Celine Dion Cancels Concerts

French-Canadian singer Celine Dion has canceled her next five shows as well as her presentation at the Billboard Music Awards due to an illness.

The 38 year-old star, who has been performing her A New Day show at her permanent home in Las Vegas, is suffering from a respiratory infection.  Dion is being treated for Mycoplasma bronchitis, and has been ordered to rest during her recovery.

The singer’s concerts have been canceled through Sunday, after which Dion was scheduled for a holiday break before returning to her show on December 28.

The last time that Celine Dion canceled her show was last April.  The singer began her contract with Caesars Palace in March, 2003, and will finish her Las Vegas shows next year.
