Celine Dion is finally pregnant after six attempts at in vitro fertilization. She is already exhausted, though, because the process has been going on for so long.
The 42-year old singer told the Journal de Montréal: "I feel like I’ve been pregnant more than a year. I never gave up. But I can tell you that it was physically and emotionally exhausting."
Her husband, René Angélil, added: "Everyone knows that Celine has guts and is determined. These treatments were truly hard on my wife’s body. It wasn’t simple at all."
The couple’s efforts have finally paid off and they officially announced that the superstar is pregnant with twins.
Dion shares, "There were truly great emotions after all our efforts."
Dion travelled from her home in Florida to New York to undergo the fertility treatments. She also used the services of an acupuncturist from Montreal to increase her chances of conceiving.
The singer is stressed out but trying to relax. She admits she is doing as little as possible. She added: "If you tell me I have to stay in bed, I will stay in bed until November, when the babies are born. To bring them into the world, there’s nothing more important than that. It’s incredible."
Celine Dion was supposed to start a new show in Las Vegas next year but that project could be postponed.
